The Shakyamuni Vihara is now officially open with a successful and blessed inauguration and opening ceremony that was held on 14 July 2019.

The event was graced by members of the Maha Sangha from various Buddhist centres and temples and in the presence of Bhante Chandananda.

With sutta and paritta recitation for the blessings, the ceremony was successfully conducted with the presence of devotees. who are also being briefed on the historical outline of the setting up of this society and the physical set up with the commendable perseverance, dedication and hard work by all parties especially the founding members and the committee members.

In his opening remarks, Bhante Chandananda has briefed the audience on the role, vision and mission of the society and the centre and also expressed appreciation to all who have contributed to the successful set-up of this society which will further enhance and strengthen the Buddha Sasana in the state, the society and the country.

May the merits from the dedication and efforts to provide this platform to spread and strengthen the Dhamma and the Buddha Sasana and also the programmes outlined for the benefit of the society be with all sentient beings and all guardians and protectors of the Buddha Sasana and leading to final liberation of Nibbana.
